RSA Summer Classes
The Roots Soccer Academy summer schedule is out and registration is now open! Summer classes will run from July 6th - August 21st. 7 classes per session. To register, click the time of the class to be brought to our registration page.
Class Descriptions
Turf Tykes- Ages 3-4 Coed
Kids and parents will take the field together as we learn to kick, pass and dribble. Our Turf Tykes will participate in exciting games and drills that will kick start their cognitive and motor skill development, build self-esteem and provide a fun and active learning environment to instill a lifelong love for the sport of soccer.
Mighty Kickers- Ages 5-6 Boys & Girls
Mighty Kickers will gain their independence as they develop fundamental skills such as controlled dribbling, passing, shooting and receiving; as well as spatial awareness, balance and coordination. Soccer instruction also teaches valuable social skills like following directions, taking turns, sharing, and peer interaction. With active and positive instruction our Mighty Kickers will gain the self-confidence and tools to grow.
Mighty Kickers PLUS
Join our RSA team with Mighty Kickers PLUS! Programs include one training per week, games every weekend, and a Roots team jersey.
Junior Kickers- Ages 7-8 Boys & Girls
Juniors will continue to develop techniques for dribbling, passing, shooting and receiving. Classes will apply these lessons to organized scrimmages designed to develop skills in a pressure free and developmental setting. Each class will be a platform for success to encourage students to continue towards higher levels of soccer instruction.
Juniors PLUS- Ages 7-8 Boys & Girls
Join our RSA team with Juniors PLUS! Programs include one training per week, games every weekend, and a Roots team jersey.
Senior Kickers- Ages 9-10 Coed
Senior kickers class programs focus on the fundamental development of players in all areas and positions. Instruction will include passing, shooting, dribbling and receiving technique; as well as team style play. Scrimmages will allow students to apply what they have learned to a game play setting.
Roots Select - Ages 11-14 Coed
Roots Select class programs introduce more of the tactical components of the game into the training sessions. Players will learn to work as a team as they continue to develop their individual abilities. Scrimmages will allow students to apply what they have learned to a game play setting.
Goalkeeper Training- Ages 9+ Coed
In depth instruction will cater to the specific technical, tactical and physical skills required of the goalkeeper position. Skill work includes diving, hand eye coordination, catching, 1 on 1’s, passing from feet and hands, jumping, footwork, positioning, agility and strength.
Striker Training- Ages 9+ Coed
Striker training develops the technical, functional and tactical abilities for goal scorers. Skills sets will include finishing, striking technique, foot work, heading /volleys, 1 on 1 attack, improvisation and creativity. Coaches will also stress the importance of off ball movement and team communication.
Fast Feet Training- Ages 9+ Coed
Fast Feet clinics are designed to develop foot speed, quickness, power, explosiveness, and endurance. Skill sets will apply directly to game play situations as we work to sharpen physical reactions to visual cues. Developing these skills will increase acceleration and agility while conditioning the body and mind for more advanced competition.
